About us
World Horse Welfare stops the suffering of horses today, through the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming in the UK and providing
veterinary care abroad - and we prevent the suffering of horses tomorrow, through campaigning, educating and training people.
At the beginning of 2006, World Horse Welfare launched a million pound project to
improve the lives of one million horses in Romania. During a minimum of
five years, the project aims to address welfare, limited know-how and
lack of resources problems by:
- organising four veterinary seminars per year for final year vet students, practising vets and official vets
- organising four training courses per year on saddlery, farriery, and management and nutrition for farmers
- and by creating general public awareness of horse welfare issues.
Upon completion of the project, we aim to leave a sustainable
infrastructure, and provide a working solution to the equine welfare
problems within Romania.
