October 2009 Equine Veterinary Seminars

World Horse Welfare’s popular specialist equine veterinary seminars, for both students and practitioners, are being planned for October 2009. This time, the subject is wound management and clinical pathology, and will include a number of different lectures delivered by experts from Liverpool University, as well as practical demonstrations.

Project Romania looks to the future with Embassy Event

Project Romania received a much needed boost when the British Ambassador for Romania, Robin Barnett, kindly hosted a reception for World Horse Welfare at his residence in Bucharest on 12 June. Attended by 62 guests including the Secretary of State for Agriculture, senior Government officials, vets, farriers, media, charities, sporting organisations, celebrities and business entrepreneurs, the event set out to sign-up support to help Romania’s horses. In year four of the five year programme, World Horse Welfare is determined to leave a lasting legacy.

Equine anaesthesia, the theme of the may 09 seminars

Once again, World Horse Welfare was pleased with attendance figures at the latest set of Project Romania veterinary seminars seminars, with over 150 students and over 20 practitioners present throughout the week. Feedback on the sessions was also very positive, with both students and practitioners finding the interactive nature of the sessions very effective.

The May 2009 veterinary seminars

The may 2009 veterinary seminars will be held at the Vet Faculties in Bucharest, Cluj and Iasi. This year, Cluj will host both the student seminar, as well as the practitioners one. The theme of the may 2009 seminars will be Equine Anesthesia.
